The Magic Lantern International
Movie Festival is a program of Binghamton
Imaginink, Inc, a not-for-profit company,
whose mission is to create programs
emphasizing education, participation and
recreation. Since the Kennedy Center
"Imagination Celebration" in the region began
in 1985, the main focus has been to provide
leadership in arts education, in cooperation
with cultural and performing arts centers and
educational institutions, and also to foster
imagination and creativity through the New
York State "Invention Convention" program.

Allan S. Jackson, Ph.D.
Dr. Jackson holds his Ph.D in Theater from Ohio State University (1962).
Professor Jackson is a retired Professor Emeritus from the State University
of New York. From 1964 to 1966 he was a faculty member at the SUNY
Binghamton Theater Department. From 1970 to present day Professor Jackson
has been the Curator of SUNY Binghamton's Theater Department's Theater
collection. From 1997-2001 Professor Jackson was the Bartle Professor of
Theater at SUNY Binghamton. From1983-1986 Professor Jackson was also an
Adjunct Curator at the Roberson Center for Arts and Sciences Binghamton, New
York.
Dr. Jackson's activities have included design and lighting, theater
production and theater history. He was the director of the SUNY Department
of Theater, Masters of Arts Program 1972-1975, 1976-1977, 1988-1996 and 2000
His teaching experiences include extensive theater history courses,
computers and theaters, stage management and lighting for directors.
Professor Jackson's books include The Standard Theater of Victorian England
and the French Theatrical Production in Nineteenth Century. He is a
proponent of new technology as demonstrated by his electronic publications,
The Coffee Table DVD of Antique Theater Society, volumes one through four,
The DVD of Theater, Circus, and Spectacle Posters, The History of Theater on
the Blackboard System. He has also published numerous articles and other
publications.
Professor Jackson has designed and/or lighted numerous plays and exhibitions
and has produced numerous dinner theater productions not only at the University
but also in the Greater Binghamton Community.
